Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris is an American politician from the United States. Born on the 20th of October 1964, she was the 49th Vice-President of the United States. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female to be elected vice president and she also holds the title of highest-ranking female officer in the history of America. A member of Democratic Party, she has been the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017, and also as the state's attorney general from 2011 to 2017 and as a United States senator representing California until 2021. Harris was born in Oakland. Harris received her law degree from Howard University. Harris started her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. She was then hired to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003, she was appointed the San Francisco district attorney. In 2010 Harris was appointed Attorney General of California. Harris was elected again in 2014. From 2017 to 2021, Harris was the junior United States senator for California. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election to become the 2nd African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the United States Senate. As a senator, she advocated for healthcare reform and federal de-scheduling of cannabis, a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants as well as the DREAM Act, a ban on assault weapons, and progressive tax reform. Her pointed questioning of Trump officials during Senate hearings has garnered the attention of the nation, which included the second Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh who was indicted with sexual assault.
