Her best-known role is her roles in Spamalot's West End revival, the Regent's Park revival of Into the Woods and as The Wizard of Oz (as the Wicked Witch of the West). She has been awarded three Olivier Award nominations for her performance. In 2015, she joined the Game of Thrones cast as Septa Unella The fifth season's sixth season. In addition to her part as Septa Unella as well, she was also an ensemble actor in the film adaptation that was made in 2012 of Les Miserables as well as the 2018 British psychological thriller Winter Ridge. Waddingham was nominated to the Golden Globe Award.
